2013 First Generation Surly Krampus in Moonlit Swamp (Metallic Green.)

I picked this puppy up at Cycle Works in Lincoln, NE. Those guys hooked me up fat over there (get it? Fat bike? okay shut up). I wasn't sure what I was looking for in a bike, but I knew I wanted something unique and that will last. And that is just what I got. The Krampus is a Medium Fat Bike, meaning that it is running on 29"x3" Surly Knard tires on a Rabbit Hole rim. What that means is the tires are 3 inches thick on a 29 inch rim, so basically I have a 29er mountain bike. I get all the positives from a fatbike on a 29er without all the drawbacks. In-fact, the Krampus is actually capable of running a standard 29er mountain bike tire if wanted. But to save you from my rambling on what it all entails. I am in love with my Krampus. Absolutely, positively, overwhelmingly, happy with my purchase. At $1950 MSRP, it is more than worth it. It rolls over anything like a fatbike and climbs like a standard 29er. I have the possibility of putting a shock on the front and that will most likely be my first modification, but the tires give me plenty of suspension for what I am riding on now. I installed my Thudbuster LT and that solves the hardtail issue. It is so simple to shift with the 1x10 gear system and really has no significant drawback for the type of riding I am doing currently.
